Tell Mona de'Maris that she can't find something and see what happens. "I dare you," says the mirthful Mississippi Delta native who just opened up de'Maris anTiques and imPorts near the pub.
Miss de'Maris, also an art dealer, has already packed her showroom with hard-to-find collectibles of the antique and ancient variety. "I think my favorite piece is the 18th century dollhouse here that I keep by my desk. It's from Derbyshire in England. Very sad history. But your audience can read about it on the plaque above it." She says the new store also has more adult items in her office above the showroom. "I definitely have something for everyone. Or I can get it." Miss de'Maris said she's recently found a choker that had belonged to Queen Alexandria, wife of Edward VIII. She's in the middle of finding ancient phallic symbology for another customer. "It should be any minute now, I think. I have worldwide contacts who are exquisitely good at poking and probing wherever they can to get what they're looking for. So, just name it. It's practically in your hand already." -- A press release courtesy of de'Maris anTiques and imPorts
